10 Essential Principles to Get Your Life Back

We believe getting well is a mission and requires complete dedication every minute of the day.  It has been our experience that people who heal faster do the following:

1. compliance

Obtaining successful results requires compliance with all treatments, including following a recommended diet and taking medications and supplements as prescribed. One example of an essential type of supplement is probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial bacterial that feed the microbiome of the GI tract and help prevent diarrhea, while influencing the inflammatory process present during illness.  Restoring the G.I. tract to health by repairing, replacing and re-inoculating healthy bacteria, along with strict compliance with diet and nutritional recommendations, is essential to maintaining good health. Individuals should not change or add anything to their treatment plan (i.e., change dosages, and/or add new therapies) without consulting with their doctors.

2. Sleep

It is important to sleep at least 7-8 hours per day. If you are unable to sleep, the inflammation in your body will increase. Obtaining successful results requires that you have good sleep habits (getting to bed earlier, avoiding computers/phones late at night, abstaining from alcohol, and avoiding caffeine and stimulants later in the day). Successful individuals will communicate with their doctors if their present sleep regimen (medication, supplements, etc.) is not working well for them.

3. Healthy Diet

You will need to eliminate sugar, high glycemic index foods, and neurotoxins (alcohol, smoking, and illicit drugs) from your diet in order to be successful. Your health care provider may also provide you with specific dietary instructions based on your individual sensitivities and needs. This may include eating small, frequent meals and avoiding gluten, allergic foods, and/or foods high in yeast or histamine. Food is medicine, so following strict dietary guidelines is essential to your healing.  It is best to clean out your pantry and refrigerator and start anew.

4. Exercise

Movement is essential for healing. A customized exercise program may be prescribed. Be sure to exercise at least 20 minutes per day.

5. Hydration

“Dilution is the solution for pollution”. Drink at least 3 liters daily of purified water (not juice, sweetened carbonated beverages, etc.).

6. Detoxification

Toxins are produced during an illness. Exercise, hydration, and detoxing (sweating through exercise, in an infrared sauna, etc.) and/or specific detoxification protocols (glutathione, supplements, etc.) may be prescribed.

7. De-Stress

Find daily joy and gratitude in your life. The practice of meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, biofeedback and/or deep breathing techniques to disengage the “fight or flight” mechanism of “dis-ease” helps the immune system function more effectively.

8. Listen to your body

Keeping a daily log and writing down the effects of different treatments is essential for your success, because symptoms directly inform the diagnosis and treatment of illness.

9. Heal Emotional Wounds

Simultaneous emotional healing is a must. Most patients have deep emotional wounds that need to be addressed. This is often one of the keystones to healing, as it affects your immune system’s ability to fight.

10. Stay Positive

You get more of what you focus on. Harness the power of positivity and belief!
